Whatever it takes . . .

I continue to get hopeful emails from dedicated fans who are eager to hear good news about a publication date for Part 2 of The Spirit Keeper.  I’m sorry to report I have no news about that, but I really, really, really appreciate your supportive emails.  Without them, I might just give up.

The only news I have right now is that I’m getting ready to follow in the footsteps of Katie and Hector as I head out to the Pacific Northwest for the last two weeks of July to try to drum up more interest in Part 2.  I don’t have too many public events set up out there, but if you live in Washington state or Vancouver BC, send me an email and maybe we can still work something out.

The highlight of my trip may be my visit to Vancouver island to meet an ardent fan of TSK who has become my dear pen pal.  She promised me a bed long ago if I should ever come her way, and I hope this teaches her to be careful what she says to strangers on the internet, because I’m coming.  On the other hand, she might end up tying me to that bed and breaking my legs a la Stephen King’s Misery, which will teach me a lesson about befriending people on the internet.

But what’s the worst that could happen?  If she takes me hostage, I figure my sales of The Spirit  Keeper will surely go through the roof, which will finally attract a publisher for Part 2!

So I hope this proves to all of you that I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get Part 2 into your eager hands!
