Now that I’ve finally gotten the complete Spirit Keeper saga into the hands of readers, I’ve had some time to try other things. The most fun I’ve had is going to powwows here in the Midwest. There I’ve found a community of generous, smart, kind, and interesting people who have welcomed me with open arms.
Because I understand the importance of Balance, I have worked very hard to give back as much as I’ve been given. One way I’ve done this is to use my simple loom to weave together strands of fibers to create regalia sashes for some of the dancers. The more I’ve worked at this, the better I’ve gotten at it, and now I have the rare privilege of watching the results of my weaving dance in the circle!
Readers sometimes write to me on this website to tell me how much they enjoyed my books, and I very much appreciate it, but I guess when it comes right down to it, I just don’t trust words. No one knows better than I do how words can be woven together to create all sorts of things that aren’t what they intended. But when I see my sashes dancing out there, I believe them. Dancing doesn’t lie. The people who wear my sashes are dancing their joy, and I feel it too.
I am so grateful for all the kind comments I’ve received from readers, but if you truly enjoyed my books, take a moment to go outside somewhere and dance your joy. Lift your face to the Sun or bow your head to the Earth, and feel the moment in all its glory. Then send me a photo or write to tell me about your experience, and I will share it with you . . .
